PANCAKE DAY HERO

Pancake Day Is Coming; And We’re Flipping Out

In the UK, it’s all about lemon and sugar.
In the US, it’s an excuse to eat pancakes for dinner.
But this year, Pancake Day is landing in Amsterdam, and we’re going full Dutch Pancake Masters.

No races. No polite drizzle of lemon.
We’re talking crispy bacon, syrup that drips down your wrist, and a brand-new way to get messy:
Bake your own pancake at our  flipping station!

First things first: what even is Pancake Day?

Pancake Day (aka Shrove Tuesday) is the glorious food holiday that shows up right before Lent.
Historically, it was the day to use up your milk, eggs and flour before 40 days of fasting.

Today? It’s a pancake free-for-all.
In the UK, they race through the streets flipping pancakes in frying pans.
In the US, it’s stacks of fluffy breakfast food from morning to midnight.
And everywhere in between, it’s become a day to go wild with toppings and unapologetic carb joy.

We couldn’t relate more.

So here’s what we’re doing at Dutch Pancake Masters

This Pancake Day, we’re opening something new.
Something wild.
Something that lets you do the flipping yourself;

Welcome to the Flipping Station;
A set-up inside our kitchen where you take the pan, you pour the batter, and you flip your very own pancake.
Yes, there will be toppings. Yes, there will be staff nearby (just in case). And yes, you’ll absolutely want to film it (and share it with us ofcourse).

It’s fun. It’s chaotic. And it’s only available on Pancake Day.
So if you’ve ever wanted to go behind the scenes at Dutch Pancake Masters,  or prove once and for all that your flipping skills are top tier,  this is your moment!

Reserve your spot (seriously)

There are only a limited number of flipping slots.
You can reserve ahead to guarantee your place at the station.
Or you can try your luck on the day, if there’s room, we’ll let you in. But no promises.

Because honestly?
We expect it to get busy.

People love pancakes.
People love making a mess.
And when you combine the two? Let’s just say we’re prepping extra batter.

Final flip

So this Pancake Day, skip the lemon and sugar.
Come get the real thing.
The big, bold, butter-soaked kind.

You flip it. You top it.
We clean up the chaos.

Some pancake toppings are universally loved. Apple and cinnamon? Comfort on a plate. Bacon and syrup? A Dutch staple with international flair. Old-School Pancake Toppings Dutchies Still Use (And So Do We)

Here in the Netherlands, we Dutchies know a thing or two about pancakes. We’re talking about the traditional Dutch kind, flat, golden, warm-from-the-pan and topped to your heart’s desire. Ask any Dutchie how pancake night went at home, and the answers are oddly similar. Someone, usually mum, dad, or oma, stood by the stove, flipping […]

We Let a Woman Named Mrs Sweettooth Hijack Our Kitchen (And We’re Still Recovering)

At Dutch Pancake Masters, we like to think we know our pancakes. We’ve flipped thousands, tested every topping, and survived the pineapple-on-a-pancake debate without a single casualty. So when someone called Mrs Sweettooth showed up unannounced, powdered, prim, and pointing to a painting.  we were… sceptical. She said she came from inside the painting. She […]
